St. Ann's Warehouse

St. Ann's Warehouse occupies a pre-Civil War structure that was once used for the storage and inspection of tobacco. Built in eighteen-sixty, the site sat as a collection of weathered, ruinous brick walls along the waterfront for decades before its transformation. During its time as a vacant shell, many locals viewed these exposed brick arches as a symbol of Brooklyn's industrial grit and resilience. Architects eventually preserved these original foundation walls, creating an open-air triangle garden within the historic masonry that now serves as a public space alongside the modern theater.
