Mae Grant Playground

Mae Grant Playground is named after a dedicated tenant leader who lived right here in the Carver Houses. From the mid-nineteen sixties through the early nineteen eighties, Mae Grant served as the president of the tenant association. She became a central figure for her neighbors, acting as a bridge between the community and the resources they needed. People frequently turned to her for direct assistance, whether they were searching for jobs or trying to secure stable housing within the development.
