Polish National Home

The Polish National Home has stood at the corner of Driggs Avenue and Eckford Street since 1914, serving as a pillar for one of the largest Polish communities in the United States. Long before it became a music venue, it functioned as the essential hub for the neighborhood, providing space for political campaigns, youth summer camps, and meetings for dozens of local organizations. It was a primary center for anti-communist activity in Brooklyn throughout the twentieth century, keeping the community connected to events and political struggles happening back in Poland. Even today, the building preserves its role as a cultural anchor, maintaining the same mission of protecting the Polish social identity that originally drove its construction.
