Hotel Seville NoMad

The Hotel Seville NoMad is a grand Beaux-Arts building that has anchored this corner of Madison Avenue since nineteen hundred and four. It was designed by Harry Allan Jacobs, a young architect who had just returned from studies at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Paris, which explains the building's distinctively French-inspired ornamentation. The project hit a major snag early on when the original developer ran out of money and went bankrupt, leaving the construction unfinished for a time. A syndicate eventually stepped in to complete the structure, and it quickly became a popular destination for visitors and permanent residents alike, who were drawn to its proximity to the city's bustling department stores and theaters.
