Domino Square

park garden

Domino Square is a one-acre public plaza nestled directly on the Williamsburg waterfront, serving as the final piece of the sprawling redevelopment of the historic Domino Sugar Factory site. The square is designed with a bowl-like interior, featuring tiered seating and a lifted perimeter of gardens that create a theater-in-the-round effect. This layout is specifically intended to host community programming throughout the year, including salsa nights and farmers markets. In the winter months, the central area transforms into Williamsburg's first waterfront ice skating rink, an entirely new addition to this stretch of the East River. The square sits between the landmarked Refinery building and a new residential skyscraper, bridging the gap between the area's intense industrial past and its current role as a modern residential hub.
