You are approaching a seven-acre stretch of waterfront that holds a unique place in New York history. Before it became a public park, this land served as the Brooklyn Eastern District Terminal, a bustling industrial rail yard and shipping hub that operated from the early twentieth century. If you look closely at the ground as you walk, you can still spot remnants of this past, including original cobblestone paths and railroad tracks embedded directly into the concrete.
