Jo's Coffee – South Congress

The exterior wall of Jo’s Coffee bears a simple painted sign that reads, I love you so much. It started as a handwritten note from local musician musician Daniel Johnston to his partner, Liz Johnston. Daniel struggled with his mental health, but he used his art to express affection during difficult times. In two thousand four, the shop owner Liz Lambert asked if she could paint the phrase on this building. It became a permanent fixture of the streetscape.
