John Laws Park

John Laws Park sits on a prominent headland overlooking the surf at Burleigh Heads. It features a sprawling grassy plateau that remains exposed to the wind coming off the Coral Sea. This space bears the name of John Laws, a prominent Australian radio broadcaster who championed the preservation of this coastal outlook during the nineteen seventies. Before the park existed, the land served as a lookout for local indigenous communities and later as a site for early European seaside tourism.
