The Pont Morland is a concrete bridge crossing the Bassin de l'Arsenal with a distinctively sharp, angular profile that contrasts with the stone arches common elsewhere in Paris. It spans the water where the canal meets the Seine. During the late nineteenth century, this crossing served as a vital link for horse-drawn traffic and heavy cargo moving into the port. Workers once used the bridge to watch canal barges navigate the locks, a scene that vanished when the port transformed into a pleasure marina.
