Église Saint-Étienne-du-Mont

The facade of Saint-Étienne-du-Mont climbs in three distinct, stacked gables, looking almost like a miniature village built out of stone. Inside, a unique rood screen separates the nave from the choir, the only one of its kind left in Paris. During the French Revolution, the church became a Temple of Filial Piety. Later, parishioners hid the relics of Saint Genevieve here after her original abbey was destroyed, pulling the remains from a bonfire to keep them safe from the mob.
