Musée de l'Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris

The Musee de l'Assistance Publique occupies a former seventeenth-century hospital chapel featuring tall, arched windows and exposed stone walls that once housed the indigent sick of Paris. It preserves the medical tools, pharmacy jars, and personal belongings of orphans who lived under the care of the city's public health system over four centuries. During the French Revolution, the building became a site where nurses and nuns risked their status to maintain basic care for the most vulnerable residents of the capital.
