Le Palace sits behind a bright red facade on rue du Faubourg Montmartre. Originally built as a theater in the seventeenth century, it transformed into a legendary nightclub in nineteen seventy-eight. Fabrice Emaer turned the space into the French answer to Studio Fifty-Four, where high fashion met the underground. Yves Saint Laurent and Grace Jones danced here alongside punk rockers and drag performers. The club defined Parisian nightlife for a generation before closing its doors to the public in the mid-nineties.
