Palais des Glaces

cultural

The Palais des Glaces sits on the Rue du Faubourg du Temple with a facade featuring a prominent glass canopy and a bright, marquee-style sign. Originally built as a skating rink in eighteen seventy-six, the building provided a cold surface for Parisians to glide indoors during the winter months. A sudden fire gutted the interior in nineteen twenty-three, leaving only the exterior walls. Workers rebuilt the space into a theater, which now serves as a venue for stand-up comedy and modern plays.
