The Musee dArt Moderne de Paris occupies the eastern wing of a massive, stately building known as the Palais de Tokyo. This structure was constructed specifically for the International Exhibition of Arts and Technology held in nineteen thirty-seven. Its architecture is a deliberate blend of classical symmetry and modern restraint, featuring a high-relief sculpture of Apollo centered on the facade that reflects the aesthetic values of the nineteen thirties.
