À la Mère de Famille stands as the oldest chocolate shop in Paris, having first opened its doors in 1761. While many historic sites in the city have been modernized, this shop remains a rare time capsule. Its original boutique at 35 Rue du Faubourg Montmartre retains the same charm it held during the Belle Époque, featuring its authentic nineteenth-century wooden counters, mosaic tiled floors, and original display cabinets. The distinctive emerald-green facade is so significant that it was officially listed as a historical monument in 1984.
