Théâtre des Nouveautés

cultural

You are currently approaching the Théâtre des Nouveautés, a venue with a secret hiding beneath its unassuming exterior on the boulevard Poissonnière. While most Parisian theaters force their audience to climb stairs toward balconies or tiered seating, this building breaks with tradition by descending into the earth. The architect Adolphe Tiers designed the structure so that the stage actually sits below the level of the street. This subterranean layout creates a distinctively intimate atmosphere that makes the hall feel like a cozy, private sanctuary shielded from the city noise above.
