Fluctuart - Centre d'art urbain

Fluctuart is the world's first floating urban art center. It sits docked permanently on the Seine River, directly beneath the Pont des Invalides. The building is a three-story, glass-walled structure designed specifically to house street art and graffiti, which are traditionally works created for the outdoors. The architects took a bold step to connect the building to its environment by opening a hole in the hull, allowing the water of the Seine to flow directly into the heart of the structure. This creates a unique atmosphere where visitors can look down and see the river moving through the center of the museum floor. The space is named after the Parisian motto, fluctuat nec mergitur, which translates to she is tossed by the waves but does not sink. The center acts as a platform for both established legends and emerging talents in the street art world. Because it is built on a modular, floating frame, the layout remains flexible enough to accommodate experimental installations and changing exhibits. The rooftop terrace serves as a public space with a panoramic view of the Seine and the surrounding historic architecture of Paris. Unlike many traditional institutions in the city, this center keeps its doors open late into the night, functioning as a cultural hub that blends art appreciation with a vibrant social scene.
