Le Carreau du Temple

The wrought iron and glass structure of Le Carreau du Temple features a distinct, rounded roof that stands out from the surrounding stone buildings of Le Marais. Originally built in eighteen sixty-three to house a sprawling clothing market, it replaced a medieval enclosure once owned by the Knights Templar. Merchants sold secondhand garments here for decades, turning the hall into a hub for Parisian trade. Today, the space hosts public events, sports, and cultural exhibitions beneath its massive, airy steel frame.
