The Sainte-Élisabeth of Hungary Church holds a dark wood altar that arrived here from the Abbey of Val-de-Grâce after the French Revolution. This structure replaced an earlier chapel founded by Marie de Medici in sixteen twenty-eight for the Third Order of Saint Francis. The main facade stands out with its sober, classical lines, contrasting against the narrow, winding streets of the Marais. It served as a neighborhood parish for the artisans and metalworkers who once filled the surrounding workshops for generations.
