2022 Paris shooting

On December 23, 2022, this street became the site of a targeted attack when a gunman opened fire on the Ahmet Kaya Kurdish Cultural Centre. The assailant, a 69-year-old retired train driver, moved from the center to a nearby hair salon and a restaurant, killing three people and wounding three others. The victims included Emine Kara, a leader of the Kurdish women's movement in France, musician Mîr Perwer, and Abdurrahman Kizil, an elderly activist.
