Square Colbert

Square Colbert, tucked away behind the gates of Rue de Charonne, occupies land that served a very different purpose for two centuries. Before it became a public garden in nineteen seventy-five, this site was the grounds of the Maison Belhomme. Established in seventeen seventy, this facility was a private boarding house that functioned as an asylum and health clinic, surviving through the turbulent years of the French Revolution.
