The building you are approaching began its life in eighteen thirty-five as the Chemin-Vert foundry, a massive industrial plant founded by the Plichon brothers. For nearly a century, this site was the engine room for heavy industry, producing cast iron parts that kept France's expanding railway networks and naval fleets in operation. It was a place defined by heat, molten metal, and the rhythmic clang of industrial labor, employing dozens of workers at the height of the industrial revolution. After the foundry finally shuttered during the economic crisis of nineteen twenty-nine, the space transitioned into a tool factory, maintaining its mechanical character for another sixty-five years before eventually falling into neglect. Today, the rough brick walls and steel structure remain, but the machinery of production has been replaced by an intricate web of one hundred and forty high-definition projectors that now cast luminous, shifting masterpieces across the very surfaces once used to forge the foundations of modern transportation.
