Hôtel de Lamoignon

The Hôtel de Lamoignon stands as the best-preserved grand townhouse from the late sixteenth century in all of Paris. It was built between 1585 and 1589 for Diane de France, the illegitimate daughter of King Henry the Second. You can still see the stone carvings decorating the pediments today, which feature symbols of the goddess Diana, including hunting dogs, deer, and crescent moons.
