The Alcazar d'Été stands out as a sprawling garden theater characterized by its iron and glass canopy, a structure that once hosted the most famous cabaret performers in Paris. During the late nineteenth century, aristocrats and artists gathered here under strings of electric lights to watch singers like Thérésa hold court. The venue thrived as an open-air escape until the nineteen-fourteen season, when the city demolished the site to expand the nearby gardens and widen the promenade that runs through the Champs-Élysées.
