La Maison Rouge

La Maison Rouge was a prominent center for contemporary art that occupied an old factory building near the Bastille. The name originates from an actual red farmhouse that stood at the heart of the complex, which was eventually repurposed as the foundation offices. Between two thousand four and two thousand eighteen, the site operated as a private foundation that specialized in showcasing international private art collections alongside monographic exhibitions. A defining detail of its atmosphere was an organic cafe on the premises where the entire interior decor was redesigned and replaced to match the theme of every new exhibition cycle.
