Promenade Pereire

park garden

The ground you are walking on hides a century of industrial labor beneath its modern flowerbeds. Before this was a tranquil garden, it functioned as a deep railway trench for the Ligne d'Auteuil, a vital nineteenth-century route that helped reshape this district. Trains rumbled through this corridor from 1854 until the line was eventually retired in the 1980s. Following the tracks' closure, the city paved over the trench in 1987, effectively burying the old infrastructure to create the peaceful, linear park you see today.
