Square Pierre Demours occupies a space that traces its lineage back to the expansive grounds of the eighteenth century Château des Ternes. This estate once dominated the area, and even today, the layout of the streets around you reflects the original path that cut through the center of that long-gone property. The square itself is a modern addition to the neighborhood, designed as an intentional pocket of greenery to soften the dense urban environment of the seventeenth arrondissement. Local residents were even invited to participate in the selection of the trees and flowers planted here, choosing varieties like Japanese cherry and woodbine honeysuckle to define the garden's character.
