This site served as the primary home and workshop for Antoine Bourdelle for over four decades, from eighteen eighty-five until his death in nineteen twenty-nine. While many Parisian studios were demolished as the city modernized, Bourdelle meticulously planned to transform his workspace into a museum to preserve his artistic legacy. His family later fulfilled this vision, donating the property and his vast collection to the city of Paris on the condition that it remain a dedicated space for his work.
