Musée Zadkine

The Musee Zadkine stands on the site of the former home and workshop of Russian sculptor Ossip Zadkine, who moved here in 1928 and worked within these walls until his death in 1967. After he passed away, his wife, the painter Valentine Prax, bequeathed the property and his personal collection to the city of Paris. The museum was inaugurated in 1982 to honor his legacy as a leading figure of the twentieth-century Paris School. It remains a rare example of a preserved sculptor's studio in the heart of the city, kept much as it was when the artist was active.
