Adam Mickiewicz Museum, Paris

The Adam Mickiewicz Museum is tucked away inside the Polish Library on the Île Saint-Louis. It was established in 1903 by the poet’s own son, Władysław, to preserve the legacy of Poland’s greatest Romantic figure. The collection tracks the poet's life through intensely personal artifacts, including the last quill pen he carried during his final diplomatic mission in Istanbul. You will also find the wedding rings he shared with his wife, Celina, and the very razor he used for his daily morning shave. These objects were curated to reflect the rhythm of his pilgrim existence, moving from his youth in Lithuania to his eventual years of creative activity here along the River Seine.
