The porch of Saint-Germain-l'Auxerrois features a series of statues that have stood watch over this entrance since the nineteenth century. These sculptures were created as deliberate imitations of medieval stone carvings to replace older works that had been lost or damaged over the long history of the building. While they reflect the artistic styles of an earlier era, they are modern additions designed to restore the gothic character of the church facade.
