The Afternoon Sun Garden features a distinct iron-wrought gate that separates the quiet greenery from the busy pavement of Thessaloniki. This urban space occupies land that served as a private backyard for decades before the city converted it into a public pocket park. While neighbors once kept the garden behind high walls, the project opened the iron gates to allow afternoon light to hit the stone benches. A local sculptor designed the central fountain, which remains the only water feature in this district.
