Grave of János Kádár (Former Prime Minister of Hungary)

The grave of Janos Kadar sits in the Fiumei Road Graveyard, marked by a plain, dark granite headstone that looks remarkably like those of the ordinary citizens buried nearby. Kadar led Hungary for over three decades, presiding over the post-nineteen fifty-six era. In May of two thousand and seven, someone broke into his grave, stole his skull, and left a note mocking his communist legacy. The police never found the thief, and the recovered remains were eventually reburied at this quiet, unassuming plot.
