A bronze bust of Frida Kahlo stands near the entrance to this pedestrian walkway, surrounded by colorful murals depicting her self-portraits and signature flowers. The city dedicated this path to the artist in two thousand thirteen to bring more cultural activity into the heart of downtown. Local vendors line the walkway, selling crafts and snacks beneath the shade of palm trees. Kahlo never lived in Cancun, but the city chose her as a permanent guest to draw people into their historic center.
