St Domingo House features a weathered, sandstone facade with arched windows that contrast sharply against the modern buildings nearby. Built in seventeen ninety-three, it served as the home of Matthew Gregson, a local philanthropist and antiquarian. During the nineteenth century, the house became the site of a girls' orphanage. Later, it housed a school for the blind. The building retains its Georgian proportions despite its transformation into apartments, standing as a stubborn reminder of the merchant wealth that once dominated Everton.
