Media Space

Media Space occupies the second floor of the Science Museum. It serves as a dedicated gallery and event venue designed specifically to explore the intersection of photography, art, and scientific technology. When it opened in 2013, the space was created as a collaborative project between the Science Museum and the National Media Museum. Its primary purpose was to provide a prominent platform for the extensive National Photography Collection, which includes millions of images and objects that track the evolution of visual media. The facility was designed with a highly adaptable interior, featuring sliding screens and flexible walls that allow it to shift its layout completely to suit everything from large-scale photography exhibitions to intimate creative workshops.
