Cumberland Terrace

Cumberland Terrace was designed by the architect John Nash to be the most impressive address in all of Regent's Park. It was constructed to stand directly opposite a grand royal palace that the Prince Regent, later King George IV, intended to build within the park grounds. Although the palace was never actually constructed due to escalating costs and political resistance, the terrace remains as a permanent monument to that abandoned royal ambition.
