Blue Plaque: Vladimir Lenin

Vladimir Lenin spent significant time in London during his years of exile from Russia in the early twentieth century. He lived in various modest lodgings in the Bloomsbury and King's Cross areas, often using the alias Jacob Richter to evade the notice of Tsarist authorities. While residing in these houses, Lenin frequently traveled to the British Library to conduct research and write. He described the institution as the best library in the world and relied on its extensive archives to develop his revolutionary philosophy.
