Garden Museum

You are approaching the Garden Museum, a place that occupies the former medieval church of Saint Mary-at-Lambeth. This site has served as a religious anchor for centuries, sitting directly beside Lambeth Palace, the official London home of the Archbishop of Canterbury. By the nineteen seventies, the church had fallen into disrepair, was deconsecrated, and was slated for total demolition. It was saved only after a chance discovery in its overgrown churchyard brought the site back from the brink of oblivion.
