Lambeth Walk

Before it became a household name, this street was known as Three Coney Walk, a rural path named for the rabbits that once roamed these marshy fields. By the eighteenth century, the area had transformed into a destination for the fashionable, who flocked here to drink from mineral springs at the local Lambeth Wells. Visitors once paid three pence for admission to assembly rooms where they could dance and listen to music, though the spa eventually lost its license after being labeled a public nuisance.
