Geo. F. Trumper

Geo F. Trumper at nine Curzon Street first opened its doors in eighteen seventy-five, a time when gentlemen of the gentry almost exclusively had their grooming performed by private staff at home. To entice these men into his shop, founder George Trumper designed the space to mirror the intimate, exclusive atmosphere of the gentlemen's clubs that dominated London society. He installed mahogany-paneled cubicles where clients could receive a shave in total privacy, a feature that remains a staple of the experience today.
