Prince Edward Theatre

The Prince Edward Theatre began its life in 1930 with a construction cost exceeding four hundred thousand pounds. Designed by architect Edward Stone, the building replaced a drapery business known as The Emporium. Its debut production was the musical Rio Rita, though that show struggled to find an audience and closed after only fifty-nine performances.
