Soho Square Gardens

Soho Square Gardens began its life in the sixteen seventies as King Square, named for the recently restored monarch, Charles the Second. The area was then on the rural edge of London, carved out of open fields that were historically popular for hunting. The name Soho itself is widely believed to have originated from a hunting cry, so-ho, shouted by riders across these meadows. What was once a collection of aristocratic townhouses for the city elite eventually transformed into the verdant, public space you see today.
