Schomberg House

historic

Schomberg House stands at numbers 80 to 82 Pall Mall. It began as a grand seventeenth-century townhouse built in 1698 for Meinhardt Schomberg, the third Duke of Schomberg. The duke was a Huguenot general who served under King William the Third. While most of the modern building behind the front wall dates to a mid-twentieth-century reconstruction, the facade remains a rare, protected survivor of the original mansion.
