Meltdown (festival)

The Meltdown festival is the longest-running artist-curated music event in the world. Since its launch in 1993, the Southbank Centre has handed the artistic reins to a single prominent cultural figure each year, allowing them to shape the entire eleven-day program according to their own personal vision and taste. This unique model transforms the sprawling, concrete-heavy arts complex into a temporary creative playground, where curators often debut exclusive collaborations or invite underrepresented artists they personally admire.
