The twenty-four story tower at One Park Plaza wears a distinctive skin of textured, white precast concrete panels arranged in a sharp, geometric grid. Completed in nineteen seventy-one, the building served as the corporate headquarters for the Getty Oil Company. J. Paul Getty commissioned the design to project a sense of permanence and corporate stability along the edge of Lafayette Park. The vertical fins cast deep, shifting shadows across the facade throughout the day, emphasizing the structure's rigid, mid-century modernist aesthetic.
