Hercules (1907 ship)

The steam tug Hercules stands as a survivor of a bygone era of maritime labor. Built in nineteen oh seven in Camden, New Jersey, she arrived in San Francisco after a grueling thirteen thousand mile delivery voyage around the Strait of Magellan. To make this journey, she performed an extraordinary feat by towing her sister ship, the Goliah, across the open ocean for the entire distance. This delivery cemented the reputation of the Hercules as a vessel capable of handling the most demanding tasks on the water.
