Club Fugazi

Club Fugazi began its life in nineteen fourteen as a gift to the Italian immigrant community of North Beach. Its benefactor, John F. Fugazi, a prominent local banker, commissioned the building as a cultural center for his fellow countrymen following the devastating earthquake and fire of nineteen zero six. He specifically envisioned the space as a palace of culture that would serve the community for generations, and it was designed by the architect Italo Zanolini to anchor the social life of this vibrant neighborhood.
