The Mission Creek Amphitheater is a small, outdoor gathering space built into the rolling landscape of Mission Bay. Its design features curved concrete steps that double as seating, offering visitors a direct view of the water and the city skyline. Designers incorporated round fluorescent lights recessed into the ends of these steps, which cast a subtle glow across the seating area after dark. This structure was created as part of the massive urban redevelopment of the Mission Bay district, which transformed former industrial railyards and warehouses into a planned community of residences and research facilities.
