Sanguich

food drink

The pressed metal ceiling and the vintage tiled floor inside Sanguich belong to an era of Miami soda fountains from the nineteen fifties. Rosa Romero started this shop to recreate the specific ham croquettes and pressed Cuban sandwiches she ate as a child. She spends days brining pork and pickling ham in house, refusing to use commercial products. When she opened, lines wrapped around the block because local residents recognized the flavors they thought had vanished from the neighborhood decades ago.
